Just thought I'd post this pic of a couple of my Rainbowfish (M Praecox). This time of year the sun falls directly on the tank for about 20 minutes and these guys were just hovering in the sunny patch, enjoying themselves. Normally they look pretty enough but the colours they were showing in the natural light were fantastic!
Pic's a bit blurry but the colours show up perfectly. I tried to take a pic with the flash on but it just washed out the colours. These are fish eu naturale!

 Great looking fish !!
Are these the only 2 in the tank or do you have a school of them.
I heard rainbows like to be in schools

The male (deeper) is about 2" long and I'm assuming is fully grown. There are only three of these guys left out of 6. They have suffered a persistant bacterial type problem which has seen 3 of them die. I am probably not replacing the shoal as I think the problem came with the fish to start with. No other fish have been affected. I will sell the rest back to the lfs if another dies. If I find a better source for these fish I will inrease their numbers to about 8 or so as they are fantastic little fish. I bought them under the name of Dwarf Neon rainbowfish.

i'm not normally a fan of rainbows, but your are gorgeous. is that the color they always look or is it just when theyre in certain light? thats almost a publishable shot. :D

Normally, under the aquarium lighting I have, they look quite washed out. Every now and again though they catch the light 'just right' and show their real colours. This was just one of those times. It helped that they had direct light falling on them at a very particular angle so showing the colours off perfectly. I was going to let the shoal run down but I think I'm going to re-stock these wonderful fish.
