Ok. First let me state that I am NOT ready to add more fish to my tank at the moment. I am just thinking outloud & planning. On a compatibility table, it said that Kribensis are ok with Barbs. What is the reality of Kribensis being compatible with Rainbowfish? :) Thanks!

My hunch is that boisterous Rainbows like Bosemani and Lake Katubu i.e. fish that reach >10cm, would be much better tankmates with Kribs than say Neon Dwarf; Threadfin; Forktail Blue Eye etc. (especially if you get a breeding pair of Kribs).

Perhaps send drobbyb a PM, the Rainbow guru on the forum?

Rainbows and Barbs are both very poor tank mate choices. Kribensis are a slowing swimming fish that like to hide or be near rock work. Barbs and Rainbows swim around mindlessly ate full speed and it will stress the kribs out in no time flat. I

I wouldnt add Barbs with Kribs due to aggression problems.Especially Tiger Barbs
I used to keep DN Rainbowfish with kribs and there were no problems, infact they were almost breeding before I sold them. Dont think the Kribs would get stressed by the Rainbowfish. I'd only keep the medium sized rainbowfish with the kribs, too small and they get eaten, too big and the kribs might get harrassed

Thank you. I like 'real' world experiences which is why I asked here. On the compatibility chart there is no Odessa Barbs but it did say that barbs & Kribensis are compatible.

There were no Odessa Barbs on the compatibility chart that I saw. I have Odessa Barbs. I would doubt that would change anything. Thanks for your response!

I have personally never kept the two together, but at a very good lfs that used to be open, they always kept their barbs and kribs together. The kribs were always very pale, and I i inquired about them, and they told me that the barbs constant darting around stressed the kribs out. I have purchase some kribs from their before and they always brightened up. Now, I have kept my kribs with danios, and the larger danios always stressed the kribs out because they were too flighty. Kribs are a slower moving, cave dwelling fish.
