I just bought 8 rainbow tetras and upon acclimating I noticed one of them looked sickly and lopsided. We think it’s about to die, but we’re not sure what to do about this fish. Please help.

They’re still in the bags floating btw

You should not keep new fish in the bags for too long. Just enough for the temp acclimation. The bad nitrates and ammonia are building up in the bag so you want to transfer as soon as the temps reach the same in the tank as the bag. Around 10 to 15 minutes should be good.

Forgot to ask, but is the tank cycled? What are you water parameters at atm?

The tank is cycled we’ve just removed the good fish from the bag and put them in, and we called the store and they told us to return the sick one, which is still in the bag
