Hi Ja5on,
Bleheri are great little channa.
I have never got any of mine to eat pellets (they will eat the occasional one).
Mine live on a diet of blood worms, beef heart, meal worms, earth worms and fresh (i live next to the ocean) squid.

I also find a little chopped raw chicken breast as a weekly treat, as well as live "medaka" (minnow?) that I breed.

They can look great given the right parameters.

Here is an old pic of my male: (he is a proud father of 100s now!)

All my rainbows colored like this at an early stage.
The secret I found to good Bleheri coloration is a nice low ph, simulate the summer/winter temps as good as close as poss, and I add Kettapang leaves to all my SH tanks.

Good luck!
