Rainbow Shark

Ive been given a rainbow shark, its a good 4inch, now ive two tanks, one with apistos and ottos 2foot, and 4 foot with shrimps, plecs with fry, cardinals and one line tetras, so which tank would suit him best, both tanks are heavily planted. He has been in a bucket for 24 hours can i keep him or not.

I'm guessing it was given to you because it was aggressive in it's former tank? I wouldn't trust it in the two tanks you describe.

2ft is too small for a rainbow shark & 4ft is recommended, not sure with the shrimps though.

Well as already said, 2ft to small.
4ft better! But it may gobble up your fry.
Not sure about the tetras or shrimp.
