Rainbow shark

I know rainbow sharks are suppose to be bottom feeders but mine isnt. He's really weird because when i feed my fish he'll come up and eat the food of the surface. And also he always stays near the top, does anyone else have a rainbow shark that does this, is he normal?

Sounds normal enough to me! I used to have a rainbow shark in my community tank and he was really greedy and would swim where ever he could get the most food, be it the surface of bottom!

I didn't know they were bottom feeders especially. Mine eats from all over. He mostly likes to work his way along leaves and wood.

My rainbow shark goes anywhere in the tank he wants.

My albino will not eat food if it is more than 1 inch off the bottom (you should see him with his little ruler) but I always thought that he was wierd for that.

Are Rainbow sharks anything like the red tailed black sharks? You think I could add any to my tank? Or wait I think I might be at Max Capacity, lol

They are teritorial and grow to just under 6 inches and about as big around as two male fingers.
