Hello, I've had a rainbow shark for over a year now and he hasn't grown at all.

I have a 55 gallon tank with 5 Buenos Aires, 5 Giant Danios, 3 Siamese Algae Eaters, an Angel, a Pictus Catfish, and a Butterfly Pleco...and Siam (that's the rainbow sharks name).

I have never seen him eat a flake even though all the info I can find on them says they will eat flakes. He just kind of nibbles on algae. I also have live plants and wood in the tank that he seems to suck on from time to time.

He's been a little over 2" the whole time I've had him and all the other fish have practically doubled or tripled in size.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You could drop some sinking wafers in and see what happens. To have survived a year, he must be eating something. Variety is always a good idea.

I have used blood worms before, I fed them about once a week for a few months but all the other fish eat them before the rainbow shark even sees them. He always hangs out at the bottom under some rocks.

I just bought some more blood worms and am trying it again...I'll try some sinking wafers too.
