Rainbow Fish?

hi, i have been thinking about getting some rainbow fish for my tank because i heard they would go well with my denisonii barbs or red line torpedo barb (sorry about spelling if wrong) and i was just wondering what sorts there are? pictures would be good if any one has any? cheers

Off the top of my head...

The common species are:

M. splendida splendida (Australian rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia praecox (Dwarf neon rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia boesemani (Bosemani rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia lacustris (Turquoise rainbowfish)
Glossolepis incisus (Red Irian rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia trifasciata (Goyder River rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia herbertaxelrod (Yellow rainbowfish)

The uncommon but not rare species are:
Melanotaenia parkinsoni (Parkinson's rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia maccullochi (MacCulloch's rainbowfish)
Iriatherina werneri
Glossolepis wanamensis (Emerald Rainbowfish)

there is also a fish sold as "Melanotaenia marci" that is a hybrid and shouldn't be purchased.
