hi i just bought my first pair of rainbow cichlids about a week ago. looked in the tank thismorning ( 3rd of november 2010 ) and i have loads of babies i have put some in a fry tank and left the others for mum and dad to look after. what sort of food can i feed them. i see some peeps use cumcimbers what sort of other vedge can i use straight from the shop as a treat. i no all about bllood worm and brine shrimp frozen or live. what sort of lighting to they like/ as i have a blue light and a white light on my tank. thanks for your time any help would be great :good:

Are you in the uk? if so try your lfs freezer section for some cyclops, its great for feeding babies, also newly hatched brine shrimp, decapsulated brine shrimp, you can even use a pill crusher and crush pellet food to a powder. The best way to get it to the young is a syringe/eye dropper and squirt it towards them.

thanks for that what pellets do you think i should use as ive never had rainbows before. yes im from the uk

try crushed flake, any kind of crushed pellets bloodworm's a good one, daphnia i feed my rainbow fry all of these
