Rain Water

Is it safe to use rain water from my water butt to do a partial water change, please? My OH insists it is, but I'm not so sure. In my opinion the water could be stagnant after standing in the butt for goodness knows how long. Plus it's been all through the guttering and pipes on it's way down! Thanks.

I personally wouldnt ever use it. But as posted below it seems it would be fine.

it depends where you live and you should check the ph, hardness, and at times there may be traces of nitrite. near cities the rain may be acidic and have pollutants from the air. if you will use rain water make sure you test it and collect it in a clean container. the above post is pretty helpful!
