Raggedy Jarvis has mated :)

Posters on this site have helped me nurse and spoil Raggedy Jarvis, and today he mated! I introduced him to a pretty female koi betta last night. I took her out of his tank this morning thinking that nothing would happen, but he kept on building and building his nest...so in she went again (much more confidently this time) and then kept nudging him and pestering him until...! About 10 times, as well. So lovely! I have just removed her as he was starting to escort her politely away from the nest and friction was in the air, but they were at it for hours.
Off to the LFS for a nursery tank and whatever revolting food the hatchlings will be wanting.
Any advice for what to expect gratefully received, and thank you to all the posters for helping Jarvis!

Very cool @On_a_dishy.

What does the father look like? If you like, you can use my paper as a reference for the future well fair of your bettas: https://www.fishforums.net/threads/betta-research-paper.465208/ (under “Breeding/Reproduction”)
Just read it - very clear and articulate! If my year 10s wrote like that I'd be over the moon! Thank you for all the information :)
Jarvis is a red betta splendens veil tail. He hasn't enjoyed being moved to his new nursery tank with his bubble nest (it was under a leaf) so I hope some of the eggs survive but I don't hold out too much hope.
Next time I shall know to mate them in the tank I want to raise the fry in!
