R.i.p. Pleco

My Pleco died several days after i got her from Wal-Mart ( I know thats not the best place to get fish). I went in to get filters and food and when i came out I had a new air sone, new stuff for the water, a new net, a pleco and five tiger barbs lol. I couldnt help myself. Pleco died several days afterwards. Could it have been sick before I bought it, she was a bit active at first and then I woke up the next and she was laying on the rocks, breathing but very very very unactive for several hours. Hours after that she was dead.

what was wrong with the filter you had in the tank?

I had had the filter 4 a long time. so i picked up some new ones at wal-mart.

theres no need to replace your filter if its working ok or you feel that you want to upgrade to a bigger one

what sort of plec was it

It was a common female plec. The filter wasnt doing the job it should have been doing so I felt the need to replace it.

You didn't happen to simply remove the old filter and add the new one?
