for a new tank i would say:
molly, platys.

as for that i dont really recomend anything else, not many of them are very hardy exept the livebearers, but thats my opinion, everybody will think differently

how big is your tank? if you want to know stocking, and a convivt will probably eat a neon.

Hi, its an xmas quiz/arguement im having with my old man. we just need to know how many you "should" keep, hyperthetically in say 4 foot tanks pls mate

It is a very long list, & will take up a lot of space answering to all of 'em, but to narrow down the list in segments, I'll start off by saying, at least the tigers and Bleeding hearts will do better in groups of minimum 6 each....

& Listen carefully.... You should not be arguing with your dad.... If he says so,.... it is the rule

KRIB 30 gallon
JEWEL unsure
ZEBRA LOACH unsure
PAKISTANI LOACH unsure
KUHLI LOACH 20gallon

BLACK RUBY BARB 15 gallon(6min)
SCISSORTAILS 15 gallon(6min)
SYNOTIS unsure
ANGELS 30 gallon (tall 18" plus)
FIREMOTH 40 gallon
BLUE ACARA 40 gallon
FESTIVUM unsure
RAMS 20 gallon (2min)although npt mandatory
KEYHOLE 30 gallon
BLACK NEON 15 gallon (6min)
CARDINAL 15 gallon(6min)
BLEEDING HEART 15 gallon(6min)
X RAY 15 gallon (6min)
SERPEA 30 gallon (6min)
RUMMY NOSE 15 gallon (min)
RED EYE TETRA 20 gallon (6min)
MOLLY 20 gallon (IMO 2+) or for bredding purposes 1 male to 3 females
CORYDORAS 3 gallons + (6) although they will thrive in a trio
PLATTY 15 gallon(IMO 2+) or for bredding purposes 1 male to 3 females

im going on tank size and preferablal numbers

The simple answer to your question is that you can keep any or all of them in a 4' tank, just not all together. There are some compatibility issues between some of them but in the right combination, any of them will work.

I'm assuming you mean numbers of actual fish?
KRIB- doesn't really matter, individuals or pairs generally fine
JEWEL- as above
ANGELS- ditto
FIREMOTH- ditto
BLUE ACARA- again
FESTIVUM- yet again
RAMS- ...
KEYHOLE-...
MOLLY- doesn't matter, if mixed sexes 2fm to 1 male
PLATTY- same

And all of the following, generally 6 plus
BLACK NEON
CARDINAL
BLEEDING HEART
X RAY
SERPEA
RUMMY NOSE
RED EYE TETRA
ZEBRA LOACH
PAKISTANI LOACH
KUHLI LOACH
TIGR BARB
ODESSA BARB
BLACK RUBY BARB
SCISSORTAILS
SYNOTIS
CORYDORAS
