Quiet Air Pump?

Can anyone recommend a decent, reasonably priced air pump for a 15gal
tank? My Rena one just seems to be getting louder and louder. My lovely wife
getting a bit annoyed and may want the tank out of the room.

Any help appreciated from you guys and gals in fish forum land.

Rena air pumps are quieter than others I've tried. However, the quality control must be inconsistent because sometimes people seem to get loud ones as you did. Is it still under warranty? If so, you might try exchanging it for another one and see if it's any better. It might help to set it on something that will help absorb vibrations like a spongy-type mouse pad. Also, check all your air connections to make sure there's nothing leaking air that might be contributing to the noise.

Yeah i have rena air pumps and they work great for me! Do you use the newer ones? How old is yours and what size?

I won't buy anything but Rena. They are the quietest I've found.

Rena are the quietest airpimp around, the only thing I can suggest is change the diaphram it may be worn. check your model number and purchase one from your local aquarists shop or the internet.
