Quiet Air Pump

I have had my Elite 802 Air Pump for a while now, but i am always so reluctant to use it as its so noisy despite being sold to me as being 'quiet'.

I have a 360L aquarium, with 2 external filters, external heater, CO2 system etc etc, but when i put on the air pump to drive my filter in my QT, the noise of that drowns out the only noise (trickling water) i get from my 360L!!! Its crazy!!

So, my question is.....do quiet air pumps exist? If so, where can i get one?! I have tried all the tricks with this one - putting it on noise reducing surfaces, suspending it by string, having 15m of dead tubing off the second outlet to reduce the noise from the pulsating air.....

I put a huge blob of bluetac over the end of my spare outlet

Blocking the second output is going to damage the pump though...

But thats not the problem really for me - the second output is quiet, its just the pump in general thats noisy!

I have tried them all and now I have RENA in all my 5 tanks. They are super quiet, without having to even put them in a cabinet. I wish they were the first ones I tried, could've saved myself many dollars, lol.

+1 on Tetratec APS300. They are very very quite.
