Don't tell my parents but I am trying to replace my main tank meaning that I will have a spare 30 gallon.

I already have a weather loach and a couple of WCMM's.

As long as I had a really good filter. Looking at undergravel with 4 outlet airpump, so there would be plenty of power do you think it would be pushing it to add two goldfish. I know it would be pushing the boundaries but bearing in mind that the goldfish would be small when purchased and weather loaches are supposed to eat poo ( I haven't had to clean the gravel in the tank since I got it and it is spotless) would I be OK.

Obviously with the airpump there would be plenty of aeration and I would also get a few plants.

Thanks

Firstly, weather loaches dont eat poo. The tnk will be clean because the minnows wont be causing much waste to begin with.
You could keep a couple of small goldies in that for maybe 8 months before needing to get something bigger.
Just remember to calculate the turnover rate for the filtration and it should be ok for a while.

Thanks for that but I have read numerous reports saying that they are perfect tank mates for goldfish because they eat their waste. Also you really haven't seen the gravel in this tank the gravel hasn't been cleaned for six months and there isn't a bit of waste in sight. Maybe the filter is just very good.

I am not that interested in buying new equipment so I am trying to go with what I have got. However I may have the chance of a fluval 2 would this be any good along with the undergravel.

Also the measurements are in UK gallons. It is 36 gallons US is this better or does it make no difference. Thanks.

You would need a fluval3+ to deal with the waste and really the undergravel isnt going to help with the fish waste.
Loaches do not eat fish poo and the under gravel will be taking care of the minimum waste the fish are giving off.

I'm going to 2nd what black angel said, wheather loaches do not eat fish poop.
Two goldfish would be fine, but make sure to keep your nitrates under 40, to do that in my goldfish tank (see the inhabitants in my profile) I have to do a 25% water change (which includes a gravel vac) twice a week.
