hi all just a quicky will sterbai spawn in a tropical tank with general cummunty fish like swords mollies platties etc...?

or would they only do it in a species only tank for safety?

jen:)

Sterbai will spawn fairly easily. But they are a little more picky than some. Once they start they will continue to spawn. Sometimes they are chosey about getting started. I have never kept them in a community tank, but I would imagine if the conditions please them, they will spawn.

They will spawn in a community tank but depending on where the eggs end up they could become fish food.

I kept some specied of cory in a community tank, when they deposited eggs on the glass or plants the eggs were fine overnight, when they deposited in the java moss they were quickly eaten >.>

Dont know why, i guess its just one of those things.

My sterbai took a little longer to start that some. There are lots of variables. Some never get their sterbai to spawn, I have heard. I always think Corys are easier to get started if they are aquarium bred.
