how long aprox would it take for a heater to heat up the water in a 29 gallon tank? coz my water is very cold right now!

also once the water warms up alot of the bubbles should go away, correct?

Did you just start the tank? Where are the bubbles? I think it would take about 1-2 hr. to heat the tank. If the bubbles are on the sides, then they are probably from the filter and if you fill up your tank enough so that the water covers up where the water comes out of the filter, then the bubbles should go away.

yes i just started it. the bubbles are everywhere on the plants (fake) and on the sides of the glass. i used very cold water and its been a few hours and its still very cold.

Bubbles are ok - that's normal in a new tank...

As for the termperature, is there a reason why you want to see a quicker jump in the tank temperature? I'm sure over night, it will reach to the temp that is set on your heater... If you absolutely want to speed up the process, you can boil some water in your kettle (or just get hot water from your tap) and add them into your tank slowly... (I'm assuming you have no livestocks in your tank yet... :D )

Hi Distrait :)

Those little bubbles are caused by dissolved gasses in the water. If you stir them they will disappear, or they will go away by themselves in a day or two. The same thing happens if you leave a glass of water standing for awhile.

As for the temperature, there's nothing you can do to hurry it except take some of the cold water out and replace it with warm water.

You don't have any fish in there yet, do you? -_- How about plants?

hey guys thanks for the advice. i wasnt really trying to rush it along i was just wondering how long it should take. my water is probably around the 17 celcius mark right now.

Make sure you get a thermometer because 24°C will actually feel quite cool to you since your body temp is around 37°C.

i do have a temp and i realized that now because it is at 24c and it seems cool
