hi was just reading up on the starlight bn L183 and just wondered what it meant by blackwater has anybody else got any of these and are they ok ie no troubles with them cheers

My understanding was also a very low pH around 6 ?

Chemically, blackwater rivers are very low in dissolved minerals and often have no measurable water hardness. The very acidic, almost sterile water, with a pH between 3.5-6, keeps parasite and bacterial populations to a minimum. For this reason, blackwater rivers are considered some of the cleanest natural waters in the world, most often compared to "slightly contaminated distilled water."

I thought so too...but I was a little unsure and have heard of people keeping blackwater tanks even at a ph in the 4ish range. So I checked mongabay, which has proven to be pretty reliable in the past and that quote up there is direct from their rainforest page. :/
