I have a 29 gallon tank. I am not sure about ph and nitrate and all that. We just have test strips that don't seem to show any problem. I do a 25% water change once a week, or at least once every 10 days. We have a dwarf gourami, one red platy, 3 mollies,
and 4 platy fry that are old enough to be mixed in with the other fish, and also one mollie fry. Oh and a rubber lipped plecostumus.

I just noticed the red platy has some very slight white fuzz on the top near the top fin. I do not like to use the tablets we have because they stain the tank, so I am using primafix? Is this safe for the fry? They are each about the size dime i would say, in length. Says to use 10 ml per 10 us gallons but because of the babies i only put in 20 ml. Seems to make the water very soapy at the top. Is this normal?

Also it says to keep adding this stuff to the tank for 7 days. Do I do any water changes? I feel like thats an awful lot of medicine to put in the tank without taking any out. Any info would help, thanks!

Test strips are not accurate I would invest in a liquid test kit.
For now I would take a sample of your tank water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.

Pimafix not sure on the dosage never used it.
I would ask in tropical chat.

The fry should be ok with the pimafix if you increase aeration in the tank.

Pimafix (& Melafix) is okay to add as instructed, for 7 days before a waterchange. If you need to change before then, add the proportionate amount that already went into the tank back in with the new water e.g. you added a capful a day for three days, then do a 50% waterchange = add a capful-and-a-half back in with the new water and carry on dosing as normal.
It should be okay with fry but if you are nervous you could half the dosage.
Don't worry about the bubbles, that's totally normal.
