After a year of fishkeeping, I'm thinking about "upgrading" my tank and getting some new plants to make my tank greener.

Well, I currently have a regular fluorescent light hood and a 15 watt 18'' bulb (which has slightly blue-ish white color).

It would be nice if I could get new hood with two light bulbs to get at least 3 WPG, but since it would cost too much money for me, I'm thinking about just getting a better 15 watt light bulb.

Any suggestion for 18 inch fluorescent light bulb? Would Hagen Life-glo 2 bulb be enough?

I curently have Anubias Nana, Java Fern, and some kind of hygrophilia, and I'm thinking about adding Glosso and some background plants.

Would that new light bulb, CO2 injection, and new substrate be enough for those new plants? (I only have regular gravel right now)

Phew, I didn't know keeping plants is as hard as keeping fish. :p

Can I suggest you read the pinned articles as these will probably answer most of your questions. Also, it sounds like you're going down the low-light route, if so check out this article by Jimboo, it shows what can be achieved and how to do it :)
