Off the tank? No. At least, I have not noticed them doing it. Plus, it would require a deal of force to remove the algae from the glass, and corydoras don't have the suction or scraping ability taht shrimp and suckermouths have.

Either way, they do eat algae tablets, but those break apart far easier.

Speculations.*

Mine dont even eat algae tabs... they prefer shrimp tabs and regular flake that the filter stream pushes to the bottom

Oh and they suck up live(or thawed frozen) bloodworm like its spaghetti :p yum

Same here. Well, they suck on the algae tablets, but I turn off the lights before I can tell if they eat them.

Suggestion: if you want to see if they will eat the algae tablets, but them in a cup of tank water for a few hours and place in the tank. If the corydoras eat it, then the problem is that it is taking a while for the food to break down in the tank, and you are not seeing them eat it.

You are not overfeeding, right (the flakes, that is)?

who me?

umm no just a tiny pinch for the benefit of the pristella tetras that live there too, live or frozen food once a week, a veggie here and there and a day of fasting each week. I think they just dont like the algae tabs becasuse the next morning the algae will be in there all soggy and untouched and I have to get the net and the gravel vac but if I throw a shrimp formula tab in its just GONE in several hours.
I think early on I was overfeeding because I had a planeria problem. Its been quite some time and I've only seen like one or two (last one I saw was like thanksgiving). gross little suckers.

Oh and they definately dont eat algae from the tank... there is a bit of buildup on the end of my tank that gets the most light... I have scrape it off every 2 or so weeks.

Mine do munch at the algae wafers i throw in for my plecos, but i doubt they're eat off those algae at the tank walls.
