Quick Q About Firefish

I've read conflicting information about firefish... some places say it will fight will other firefish, some say it needs at least a group of 3 (like the green/blue chromis do). Which is it??

ive always heard there a shoaling fish so 3 however they seem to fair pretty well on there own as well, but i think they prefer a group.

I don't have room in my tank for 3 (I don't think, at least), so I don't know if I should go with one of those or something else... what do you think?
Oh, btw, it's a 30 g with a clown, a watchman goby, probably a red-lipped blenny and a coral beauty angel.

Speaking of wrasses, the lfs had one they called a scarlet wrasse, but I haven't been able to find much info on it. It's a nice dark pink, with yellow around the throat area. Looked like a pretty active fish, too.
