Hi,

Just got our first tropical aquarium set up - the heater is an elite heater - clearly marked just below the top of the tube part is the minimum water level... what isn't marked is the maximum water depth. They're claimed to be fully submersible - should I do so or should I leave the top so I can get to the temperature adjuster?

it is your choice but if you leave it up to the minimum water level be ware of evaporation

Yes, if it's fully submersible, then do so, about half-way down the tank and cocked at a 45 degree angle if you don't have good water current. You really don't need to adjust the temp once it's established at 78F (25.5C) or whatever temp your species requires, unless you're treating for Ich or other that requires a higher temperature. Place your thermometer as far away as possible from the heater if only to get a better idea of tank temp.

Cheers for the advice - I'll lower it today :)

(The thermometer is on the oposite side of the tank already).
