you medicate corys at half dose right? them being scaless (yet armored) fish?

I have massive fungus on my beloved Wonky fish. He has cotton balls all over his poor little self and I am heart broken. Was in hospital and he got really over fed (well the whole tank did) and now its very mucky, so not to shock have been doing tiny waterchanges, hooverings and filter cleanings, and medicating, so hopefully he will get better. Just medicated today so not to late to go to full dose if needed, I just remember someone saying you do them at half.

thanks all!

I don't medicate at half dose.

What med are you using? What country are you in? [Someday I will learn to look before I start to answer--or William will show the origin in the reply mode.]

Corys don't need to be medicated at half dose. Salt is considered a potential problem and should be used with expert mentoring.

I am useing Intrapet Anti Fungus, at half dose, and am in the UK :) I hate using salt and have never had any good results with it, so just don't do it. Will add the rest of the dose tonight then, thanks :)

thanks so much! adding the extra dose tonight, will let you know :)

all his fluffy spots are gone except one on his tail :) seems to be nice and perky today as well! thanks so much!

thanks :)

tank looks cloudy today though :/ Everyone seems good though!

Some meds do that. It usually clears up. I am not familiar with using Interpret, so I do not know all that side issues. All I can say is follow the instructions, complete the round of treatment. Some meds kill plants and that will affect the tank. Some meds kill the nitifying bacteria, initiating a mini cycle. Keep an eye on the water stats and do water changes and filter maintenance as necessary. When the treatment is over and the fish are recovered run fresh carbon after at least a 1/4 water change.

If any issues with the fish or tank start, check back in for help.

Also let me know how it goes.
