Quick Lighting Question...

I'm going to be throwing some additional T5 power compacts in the reef. The question I have is this...

I will have from the front of the tank
Front
----55wPC----Should this be 15kwhite or Actinic?
----45wT5----Actinic
----45wT5----15k White
----55wPC----Should this be 15kwhite or Actinic?

I wouldnt have thought this would make much difference in positioning really would it??

I have just kept mine uniformed and all at back (lid splits to open so no choice there)


I have mine so the actinic is in the centre and outer is white and my tank is thriving!

Only suggestion is to have good reflectors!

Are you running power compacts in there?

One part of me says to load the front with the actinic, the other says to mix each side of the tank?!?

No reflectors for the power compacts - have to use reflective tape

They look great - do you suffer from heating problems under that hood? I've got some T8 Juwel Reflectors that I will cut down and cannibalise, is that office lighting reflectors you used - great idea!!

Sounds good, yes its office light reflectors!

I got 3 pc fans on a frame mounted at back of lid blowing air straight onto lights, its really cool in lid, before I fitted them you couldnt touch the top of lid as it was so hot but now its perfect.
