Hi there! Pulled out two 2028 canisters from storage where they had been sitting for 3+ years. I hooked them both up and they both leak. I cannot see where the water is coming from. On both units, if it tip the unit to either side, water pours out of the hole just below the corner clamps that lock down the top to the canister. When I look at the eheim parts site, I am only seeing three gaskets I can change out:

1) The big o ring for the seal between cannister and powerhead.
2) the double set of o rings on the intake/outtake hose clamp thingy.

My assumption is that if I change all those o rings out - I will have solved my problem, right?

QUESTION: Has anyone experienced a leak with these filters in an area other than what I just mentioned?

Thank you for all your help!

In answer to your question - no, and it does sound as if it's the O-ring that needs replacing. With those filters sitting in storage for 3 years the O-ring is for sure to become brittle.

Hiya....I had that same prob w/my second hand pro II 2028 and I replaced the oring and it's been great since!!!

Here's a link to buy them from if your LFS doesn't stock them(mine didn't...I live in South Dakota so it's kinda the boon docks compared to other places)
link for part There's one site for ya...check around...I don't remember exactly what site I got them from...but there are some price differences.

(this is from the eheim site) 7343150 Sealing gasket 1 $29.76 This is what it is!!! Now that ya know what part....COMPARE PRICES FROM OTHER SITES!!!! this is expensive! The other site I listed is about $13.
This is prob what you're looking from....but I'll throw it in for the other people. Eheim parts page for 2026 and 2028

Oh...that's the only issue I've had with them and another forum member suggested to me exactly what I told you....and it worked for me...so hopefully it'll solve your prob too!

Thanks to all of you. I ended up buying from Eheim parts because no single supplier had all three items that I needed. It was more expensive but I wasn't about to place three seperate orders with three .com sites that I don't even know.

I am glad to hear that the o-rings will likely solve all my issues. Hurray!
