hey ive got a 55uk G 66 us tank its 4 foot long and im stocking it with a JD, salvini and maybe some convicts and with some giant dainos as dithers. also bottom dwellers like a clown pleco but i was wondering if a senegal birch would be ok in there to the one that grows to max 12" (20cm) any ideas cheers

I don't know a thing about cichlids but I would presume that it's okay. Don't take my word for it though, wait for some one with cichid experience to come along. You may want to try posting in the cichlid section.

Senegal should be fine with the fish but I'd be concerned about space.

ye thats what i was wondering about it is 4foot long so is long 4 a 55. also ill get them all at a young age so have time to see how they will get on :) will they bother bottom dwellers? cheers

Shouldn't bother bottom dwellers, actually when small bichir are quite feeble and I'd be more concerned about the others bullying it at first. They do grow fairly quickly though and will eat smaller or weak fish. My senegals when I had a group managed to dispose of 3 rainbow fish (2x bosemani and 1 x red)
