Hello, I think I've decided I like the half moon betta's the best... are they a crossbreed or are they not? Also, If I wanted to put females in a 30 gallon tank, what amount would you recomend? I don't plan on breeding any time soon, these are just for me to look at. 
Also, I had questions about the colors. I've heard people talking about color strains... is this sort of like the dominant and recessive colors? Could someone talk to me about all the colors so that if I do decide to breed later on I'll be better able to pick breeding stock?
I've heard someone say Java fern or java moss? is good for begining betta tanks? I'm not sure any local stores have it though. Also, could the females go in with some Danio's? or a algae eater? right now my Pleco tucker is in a tank with my fiance's oscar, and once in a while he'll get chased, as the oscar grew faster than he did. Its not biting or anything, and mostly its just when tucker gets too close to chewies bubbles.

Not quite up to snuff with all the lingo yet. lol do you think It would be better if I bought the HM from different dealers or the same? -thinks I read somewhere siblings get along better?-
