1- I just put Panda corys in with my albino corys... and they are all acting shy... it's been about a month and they are still acting weird... is this normal? will they get happy again? or did I make a mistake putting panda's in with albino's?

2- It' a 10 gal tank with the 5 corys in it... could I possible put Neon Tetra's in there to? if so how many?

Any other sugestions on what I could to to make my corys happy? Should I find the panda's a new home and put in more albino's? What is a good fish that stays in the middle to upper that can be alone? I am gonna get a bigger tank in the next few months.. should I just wait till then to put more fishies in?

Thanks for any help

Well for one thing the tanks to small...Ill guarantee that the cories will freak out in that tank. You have two options really: provide a heck of a lot of cover(lots of bogwood and plants) or get a larger tank with more cover, otherwise they will remain shy. Albino's and Pandas are fine together, however to relax your cories you really should have groups of 5 of each species(not that you can do that in that size tank). I suspect that you would have to be careful with your stocking if you added neons, the tank would be full with a standard tetra school of 6.

Hope this helps.

So should I try to take the panda's to a pet store?.. I have had albino's longer so I am attached to them... and get two more albinos? Then my get two more albino's...? Or tetra's...?

Hello Jesi

Don't give up with Panda, they are cute little one. You could get a few more Panda's. Cories always shy that is the pesonalilty of it. Like Xebadir said get some bogwood or plants to make them feel safe].

Give them 1-2 week to settle down. I got about 10 panda in various size [Wild cought and tank raise]. They are living together with other lager cories. One thing if you see them infront of the Aquarium and you get too close they will swim away, that is normal for them to acts like that.

Please give a Panda's a chance

One of my pandas died today.... :-( So there is only one left with the 3 albinos.... Are pandas normaly sickly... my albinos have been wonderful I have had these 3 for almost a year... Now I am stuck... I don't know what to do!

Pandas are a little more delicate than most other corys. They need cleaner water, and like most corys do need to be kept in groups of at least 5. If you plan on getting a larger tank, I would hold off on any new purchases. Corys are catfish, which makes them a messy fish. Unless you want to deal with 50% water changes a couple of times weekly, hold off with purchasing any more corys.

I keep solitary pandas in angel fry tanks, they are in there 2 or 3 weeks at a time by themselves. I'll often transfer them when the fry get transfered, they will end up being by themselves or with another cory for up to a couple of months. Sometimes I have to swap them out after as little as 2 weeks, a constant diet of bbs gets them fat fast. The ones with smaller spawns tend to last the longest, as the smaller spawns get fed less. I have yet to see one die of lonliness.
