I'm currently having a mild ICH breakdown and I wanna catch this freakin thing early, but I'm not sure if the Green spotted plec could survive high temp...I will be increasing my temp from 27 C to 29 C/79 F and eventually to 30 C...I've put extra airation in the tank now....I need your expert advise on this one guys/gals.....thanks..

all fish can with dstand high temps for a while, as your only doing it for ICH treatement I take it you won't be doing high temps for too long.

i keep my tanks at 79/80 usually, my tanks are packed full of plecs including the L200.

maximum i wanna keep this temp is 10 days....they should be fine right????

We too have a Lemon spotted green plec (called Snickett) and last summer despite our best efforts, the temperature in our tanks went over 80f for about three weeks and we had no fatalities.

He'll be fine for ten days.

The extra aeration is vital as warm water holds less oxygen, the addition of meds also reduces the water's ability to hold disolved gases and plecs needs more oxygen than average anyway, as they evolved in fast- flowing streams & rapids.

Thanks for the assurance SirMinion..I've added an extra airstone and all of my fish seems not to be bothered by the heat...except for my burmese loaches...they are just lying on the gravel and i've never seen them this weak and lazy before... :( ...Anyways I won't be using any meds..i'm going to kill ICH with high temp...it work before when i had Discus..after i increase the temp to 30 C and keep it at that i've never seen ICH again..now it's back....This is not a good week for me..just when they recovered from bloat..here's another problem....
