Questions about Gold Nugget plecs????

I just saw a Gold Nugget plec on sale for half of it's selling price which is $30 canadian. I was wonderin what kinda food it takes algae waffers, bloodworms, or some vegetable like lettuce or zuccini?. I also wanna ask on how to feed them either at night or day since my africans are really greedy and probably will eat all the food I put in the tank.... Is it worth getting this fish

All of the above!

Feed at night 20 minutes after after lights out and he should be fine.

Before you buy him, make sure you know why the plec is half price, and have a look at it's belly. If the belly is sunken, the fish may have worms or is starved so proceed with caution.

possibly some frozen prawns (althought ours have all gone off these just recently )

Very true. the belly should have a slight bump, but a big belly can certainly be an indication of a problem.

Mine appears to eat nothing but bloodworm and algae wafer.... ignores prawns, mussels and everything else (that's right CFC, he's disobeying you still)

I bought mine for $60 Canadian, but I knew that he was completely heathly.
Exactly what Sir said, must have a little belly and the darker and intenser the colour, the better.
Good luck, they are cute looking plecs. Anyone that see him in my tank always stopps and looks!

Yah i'm from T.O. and I saw it at PJ's(Yorkdale location). the plecs are in great condition, I've been keeping an eye on them for months now, I think they went on sale because nobody wants to spend $60 on a pleco.... I work at BIg Al's and we are supposed to have them for our weekend special sale which is $19.99 last week, but we don't have stock Ask my manager and he said there's none on his shipment invoice.....

I don't know what mine eats, I never see him. Like in the case of the Locke Ness Monster or bigfoot others say they've spotted MY pleco, these lucky few say he's growing, so at least I do know he's alive.
