We have large koi in our pond and other large fish, the other day I was in the fish shop ,they were selling 5 small koi for a fiver ,lovely colours so i bough 5,put them in the pond, but they are terified of the other fish, they just hide under stones, never saw them come out for food, did i do the wrong thing buying them so small :/

Your Koi was that small once too. So long as the fry have the good sence to not get eaten then they will grow up and be lovely additions to your pond.

Its nothing strange. The young Koi you brought will most likely have been kept with other fish of a similair size all their lives. They just have to adjust to a larger environment with larger fish, just make sure they're feeding and with time they will become more confident. :)

Will the big ones eat them though, thats what I'm worried about :(

we put couple of smaller koi in the big pond at work where there are 2 3ft koi.

the feeding time ther litle one was rushing to the top getting the food and in the turbulance from the toher fish almost got sucked into there mouth but they haven't tried to eat them so i reakon your safe.

its only a problerm if your big fish are hungry for little fish, the fry need to be weary of larger fish because they don't know the difference between a koi and a perch.

I can only find one ,so been dropping food near it :)

Can't find the others -_-

Hey Bri saw 3 together last night feeding, the first time I've saw them since we put them in,so hoping the other 2 are still ok to
