I bought some dried blood worms and one the can it says "Great for Betas" but my betas won't eat them. Is there any reason why?

Bettas are picky eaters. Also if they are new to the tank, they may not eat right away.

they have been in this tank for a couple of weeks. (That is when I got them.)

dried food i heard rips up a bettas inside, try frozen they look better to the betta i think.

not to question you - coconutman - but on the can it says great for betas, why would they put that if it is bad for them?

I might go out tomorrow and get some frozen and see if they like it better. If not I will try brine shrimp.

cj - I recommend frozen over freeze dried. They contain more vitamins and my bettas seem to enjoy frozen more.

If you do frozen, let them defrost for a few minutes in a little cup of tank water. If they are too cold it could hurt your fish.

now one more question, can I feed these to the other fish I have or not.

its all about marketing, i would suggest frozen. mine love frozen bw but not brine shrimp its weird be prepared.

The frozen or freeze dried?

Your other fish might be picky with the freeze dried . . . You'll have to try it and see. :dunno:

all depends on what the betta wants....i have a betta that wont eat his pellets, so now i gotta buy freeze dried blood worms just for him...i have one little girl that will eat anything she can fit in her mouth, my other girl and my two older males love pellets....one of them even eats them 2-3 at a time! then theres my sunset, who won't eat pellets, or bloodworms...oddly enough he prefers the taste of hikari's tropical fish flakes

all depends on ur betta
