hi, i was wondering can you use a tank with a built in overflow without using the overflow? if so how?
this is kind of a stupid question but i've never myself managed or really seen how the built in overflow works?

You have a choice of removing the overflow section and simply plugging the hole in the bottom or using the chamber as the source of your water filter flow. You do not want to simply trap water behind that barrier and let it stagnate. Anything that you fill with water containing organic matter should be kept moving somewhat to avoid a stagnant volume with its attendant odors.
