I bought some tree sponges a bit over a month ago and have been having a lot of success with them, to much in fact. One of them has grown 2-3 inches since I got it and it is beginning to reach a height in the tank where I won't be able to do my month 10-15% water change on the tank without exposing it to air.

Can I just trim the sponge? If so what should I use, a razor or would my pair of trimming scissors? Also can I attach the cutting somehow to a piece of LR to create a new sponge? Trying to search online for information on sponges turned out to be a big waste of time, is there some book that someone could recommend?

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

A ice clean cut with a blade will be best...never tried myself but if sandwiched between pieces of rock it should attach...cant lift it out to glue it like other frags as the air will kill it.
