I found this on aquabid. What would I get if I spawned him and a spawn sister? Or if I spawned him and a long finned CT female? Any clue? Seems like it'd be fun to try, but I don't want to end up with too many bettas that no one will want.

I don't think I have seen a Betta on here yet, that someone did not want. If he is in fact from a full Ct, and a full Plakat, breeding 2 sibs from this spawn should give you some CT Plakats, and some long fin CT's, I think. But I don't know how correct this sellere info is. He does say that one of the parents was a giant, so they are 1/2 giant, and these guys could get as big as 2.5-2.75 inches. (2.5 is the average size of a Reg. Betta.)

I wouldn't bother breeding one of these to a Reg CT. THe only reason to breed these, would be for the CT Plakats. If you like that look.

I'm sorry....I posted a while back about breeders on AB using close ups and not-reduced pics to sell "giant" type bettas.

This excert from that ad makes me wonder a bit

that makes this guy a 50% Giant, which means he should grow to about 2.5-2.75 inches

Your average betta gets up to 3", and a full giant gets up to 5-7", so I'm sorry I would imagine a 1/2 giant would get larger then 2.75" at full growth.

I think I would beware of this particular seller. Either ask for pictures of the giant parent beside other fish, or ask a full shot of this fish in a tank with other items/fish, for size comparison.

True though it may be that the seller has good feed back, but they are selling young fish. People buying them won't be able to come back and change the feedback once the fish is "grown" and has not reached the sizes they should have. That feedback only reflects a live delivery and the delivery of the fish shown in each auction. -_-

Just doesn't add up IMHO.

I'd go with Jennie on this one . . . the projected sizes don't seem to tally for what he's promising.

If you like his basic look then go for it, but if you're expecting all of the information posted to be spot-on, I'd tread carefully.

Just thought this might be of some intrest.

BrookLea! Thats the fish I won! haha. I think he said he had 5 of each. I emailed him about it and I guess he put the rest back on auction! I got that and the blue green one. I also got a matching female with the one you linked to. He said they are so identical that the only way he can tell the difference is that he has the tanks labelled. I expect them to come in by next Wed/Thurs. Good luck with the bids!

BTW: I was also wondering the same about breeding when I won that fish =)

Awww..now I feel I might get shafted. But BrookeLea, if you wanna wait, Ill give you the stats on mine and tell you if it's getting bigger or not.

Thanks for the input everybody.

And thanks for the heads up and the chart, SRC. I wouldn't have thought to ask for pictures of the parents beside normal-sized fish (but he could always put a regular sized adult next to a juvie, if he really wanted to pull a scam  ) I think I'll probably pass on this auction, just because it does seem rather...oh geez, pardon the terrible pun here...but it seems rather "fishy."

ninjaboy, it would be great if you could let me know how your boy grows!

By the way...does the thought of a 7" betta scare anyone besides me, just a little? haha
