Question For All The Breeders Out There

What kind of filter do you guys use in the shallow spawing tank?
I bought a sponge filter is too tall, it would be fine if the water was filled to the top of the tank but it needs to be shallow.
Any suggestions?

I don't use filters at all until 3 or 4 weeks of age.

You can cut the filter tubes, I have for my fry tanks (the small critter tanks) this prevents all that splashing that happens cause the tanks aren't filled above a couple of inches whilst the fry are so small.

They come apart (one tube is slimmer than the other), and cut off what you need to get it to a level you're happy with and then they just fit back to together again..

thanks guys, at 3-4 weeks the water level can be raised, right?
i won't use the filter until then
