My question: Can corys survive without a lot of food? It's in relation to my suggestion needed, which is how many you would suggest I would have in a 29 gallon tank. I have 3 panda corys, and I love them to death. However, I'm afraid to get more because there might not be enough food for them all. I'd hate for them to starve D:!

Thaaanks!

Why would they starve? When you get more fish, you feed more food ;)

I suggest a minimum of 6 cories for a group.

I'm always worried about overfeeding my fish, so I try not to feed them too much. However, because of that, I'm afraid my little bottom-dwellers won't get enough of the food. D: Should I stop worrying?

Hi chibi :)

I see your point, but the corys have to have a good diet too. Many people think that because they are always exploring the bottom looking for food, that they can live on left overs. This is not the case at all.

Corys need a good, varied diet just like the other fish. This should include flake food and meaty foods like live, frozen or freeze dried tubifex, blackworms or bloodworms. They also need a little vegetable matter such as Hikari sinking wafers or Spirulina Discs.

With a little practice you will get to be a good judge of how much food to put in the tank. Until then, make an extra effort to vacuum the bottom of the tank as often as you feel necessary. :D
