As some of you all know I'm having a problem with my common pleco that is in a long 20g, well I was wondering since he can't seem to find a place to claim as his because the tetras run him off from any spot he choose's could I maybe add a big cave or driftwood so he can "hide" from the other fish and get some rest and claim it as his spot, will this work and calm him down until I can get him at least a 55g?

Anyone have a say on this?

Hi, I also have a Common Pleco in a 20UK gal tank. When I first got him he would hide behind a large ornament I have in the tank. I think it is made from marble or quartz. It has holes in which he used to swim through when I first got him. He is much too big now. He was actually sold to me as a Bristlenose, which I had researched and would have been ideal for my present tank. Of course I will have to get him a new tank now. I am too fond of him to give him away. I later bought a piece of mopani wood (should have got bogwood, but he seems to like it). He hides at the side of that now. He thinks he is hiding, I can see him clearly! But the point is he has somewhere to retreat to and feels safe. I soaked the mopani in ordinary water for a few days and then put it in my tank. The water was slightly brownish for a few days, but as I have a carbon sponge in it soon cleared. Hope that helps. :) Oh, I kept the rock ornament as well so he has a choice.
