Hello,

I have a planted 30 gallon that I have had up for about 3 months now, and lately I had noticed some of my plants were looking brown. I purchased a "Glo" brand "Life Glo" bulb for my lid, which is supposed to work well for freshwater and planted aquariums. I replaced it last night from the light that came with the lid, a regular "All-glass Aquarium" bulb.

Will this new bulb help my plants to spruce up?

Thanks so much!

will all depend on how much lighting you have and also the routine of ferts you are using.

light alone wont help your plants to "spruce up" if all you have done is replce the bulb in your tank hood to obvuously the same wattage, it wont be any different from before anyway.

plants need fertilitsation, you can choose 2 methods, low tech, or high tech, a low tech set-up would be, stocked reasonably with fish, lower lighting and a nutritious substrate, high tech would be high fert dosing, nutritious substrate, high lighting and liquid carbon, or pressurized co2.
