Hiya, i was wondering do you have to have a special aquarium light aka lights bought from stores/online aquarium stores or can you go to hardware sore and buy some florescent lighting and wire up/build your own light +stand? such as the lights on the ceilings you see at shops, the florescent utility lights? Thanks!

Whatever you, and you budget, requires !!! I buy shop fittings, and just replace the tubes for aquarium ones for planted aquaria... any tube will do if you aint got plants !
