Question about fish only tanks

I have started a fish only tank and its my first time that i didnt have live rock and what not in my tank. So i was wondering can you use decorations that you buy from the stores in a salt water. If you know let me know it would be a lot of help.

i personally would use live rock. Even if u aren't power it with a lot of watts. Stuff will still grow on them. Live rock is also a big part of the tanks filteration. There is a lot of stuff living on there that eats up the crap from your fish. Live Sand is also a very important filter.

well im not doing live rock but i do have live sand in it. I also allready found out that u can put them in there.

If you add real but not "live" rock and ornamental chorals they will become "live" over time as the good bactera grows in your tank

Just a question ... why would you do live sand but not live rock?

Because at the point i didnt want live rock at the time cause i got in it my other Sw tanks but i allready add live rock anyways .
