As some of you know, I've been trying to breed some of my bettas.

Unfortunately, something strange happened. I released my female about a day ago and a few minutes ago, I noticed that the bubblenest had disappeared. I don't know why it happened, but I assumed that there was something wrong. I put the female back in the chimney vase and I'm going to wait for the male to rebuild the nest before I try again.

Sometimes if the female isn't satisfied with the nest, she will destroy it and he will have to rebuild. I love bettas :D

Yep, sounds like the girl destroyed it. I find that almost every spawn attempt I do, the female will do that at least once....it's almost like the first one will NEVER be good enough...it's just a females way of being controlling, hehehehe

I'm gonna try again in about a week, hopefully she'll be a bit more complacent the second time around. She always follows him when he swims around the chimney and he's always dancing around the chimney. But there's no nest so I stave them off.

Maybe in a few days they'll be more ready.
