Question About 55 Gallon

just got a 55 gallon tank and it has the divider in it so i cant buy a hood that is 48x13. it measures 48 long and 13 deep, so im guessing i need two 24x13's, but i havent seen any all i saw was 24x12. so i was wondering if maybe since there is a little lip, if it only needs two 24x12s

Yes, the 24x12 lids should fit the 55 gallon just right. I have a 24/12 inch tank, (all-glass aquarium brand), and the lid is exactly the same as the 2 that came with my 55 gallon.

Does any body have a plastic/glass cover before the hood?

My "all-glass aquarium" brand tanks all came with a black plastic cover with a hinged part for access to the tank, and a glass part for putting the included light fixture onto. They had punch-out areas in the back so that a filter or heater could have access to the water.

Alot of LFSs (at least many ones I know) can make or order glass lids for you providing measurements. Call around to LFSs near you and ask.

Me too...that's why I chucked them and bought the glass covers! Looks (and works) so much better!
