Why i'm asking is my lfs does have 3 queen loaches and they're all 2 1/2 inches so full adult size, my endlers are just 3/4 of an inch which is their adult size, i'm worried that they may become tasty snacks. Every where i've read says they are peaceful and very good snail eaters.

Edit

Well they only have two now and say its best to now buy only one as having two, they say one of the two will become more dominant over the other, so get one and then get two more.

They say they should be safe with my endlers.

I now have 3 queen loaches, the two new are juveniles so are half the size of the oringinal first one and are always out and about.

I will say the queen loaches are beautiful, their bodies look like silk and really are great snail eaters.

My question is the larger loach never comes out of the sunken ship, when i do see him which is very brief he looks healthy and roots around abit then returns to the ship. I do have plenty of hiding places for them including bogwood and my tank is quite heavily planted. i'm also getting a simlastone cave.

So i'm a bit worried about him/her. It may just be normal behaviour for older loaches and does anyone know how they breed in more detail.

Breeding Botias requires special techniques involving hormone injections. There have been a few somewhat dubious report of them breeding, but they are not routinely bred by even advanced hobbyists.

Loaches are often more active during the day if there are a good number of them. It is not unusual for individuals to hide away much of the time.
