Okay, so basically all of my 11 females get along pretty good and I haven't seen anything more than a few small nips out of their fins, which all heal back nicely with weekly water changes.

But I was watching my tank today and there seemed to be a bicker over who was hanging out in the driftwood cave. A darker female crowntail was resting inside the cave when a cambodian crowntail decided she would shove her out. She's one of my biggest females so the others usually give her her way...but the darker female wouldn't budge and starting flaring like crazy. So the cambodian girl flared back and soon they were in the S fighting shape.

I was going to put my finger in there to break it up, but then along came another female. She swam by and peeked her head into a small hole in the driftwood to see what was going on. I guess she wanted in on the action and swam right into their fight. So they are all going mad at flaring and wiggling at each other. I wish I had my digital camera so I could take pictures. It is so funny. :p They aren't even nipping at each other, just flaring and wiggling in each other's faces. I suppose I'll let them duke it out until they figure out who gets the driftwood for today. :flex:

I was also wondering...I was doing a weekly water change friday (about 10%) and I didn't fill the water all the way back up. I filled it to where there is 2 cms that show with no water. All of my fish seem to be much more active and swimming out in the open. It makes the filter outflow much stronger and makes a bunch of bubbles, it resembles a waterfall. Should I leave it like this or fill it back up? Could that cause them to all become very active? :dunno: Even my bulldog plec was out sucking on the glass and the river stones, and I never see him out during the day. :/

:lol:bless them, leave the water as it is if they are happy with it that way, my pitbull plec is always out in the day sucking on the glass, he makes me laugh and he's fairly tame as well.

 I think I will leave the water that way. My ghost catfish like swimming through the current.

I never see my bulldog plec. He always hides under the same decoration as my bumblebee catfish. It's like they're buddies. I also find my sailfin plec in the same hiding spot underneath the grass. Although his tail is always sticking out. He's way too big for their hiding spot, but he likes to hang out with them under there. He digs himself a nice hole and uproots plants as well.

 Fish are funny at times, that's what makes it all the worth while, by goldfish are always up rooting plants, always seem to be putting them back.

My tank has musical posessiveness, too. :p
It's a mess right now cuz 1/2 the girls are out in quarantine w/columnaris, but before that - the tank was on its third "queen bee" of the tank.

They fight over who gets the cave, even though there are plenty of other hidey spots in the tank, especially now since I LOADED up on plants.

I think they've all gone nuts because Gary (the male snale) was put into the tank and they're all fighting for his attention.

Girlies are nuts.

I was doing a water change on one of my males tanks (cotton candy) and I put him in a breeding net in my 120 gallon while I scrubbed out his 10 gallon tank. The girls went NUTS. :hyper: They all swam right up to the breeding net showing themselves off. I didn't know they would notice him THAT much. So I took Cotton candy out and put him in a bucket instead. I don't think the girlies liked that too much.

Oh the girls are nuts for the boys.
Doesn't even matter what they are - fish, snails, guinea pigs, humans - whatever, they love em.

I have Nellie's tank on a shelf next to Louis' tank. She LOVES to stare dreamily over at him. She plants herself in her cabomba so she can just bat her lashes at him all day long.

Too bad Louis is blind as a bat and has NO idea whatsoever that she is even there.
lol

 Poor Nellie. She must be trying so hard to get his attention only for Louis to swim elsewhere because he has no idea she is there.

I moved my female's tank next to Deiters one day while I was doing a water change and they instantly fell in love. I tried taking her tank away from Deieter's and he literally jumped half out of his tank. I moved her tank to where it originally went and he went bananas swimming all over the tank like a mad man! I put her tank back next to deieter's and he soon calmed down and started wiggling around the tank for her. Bettas are so silly.

We had another show this morning. lol
Same story as you, Raech. I was giving Jack a water change, and have become completely oblivious to the fact that Cloey and Millie's tanks sit on the kitchen counter because I"m so used to them sitting there now. So, I set Jack's tank right next to theirs and started getting out the supplies for the water change. Turned around to 3 flares and LOTS of wiggling. After I moved Jack, Cloey and Millie were flaring like crazy at each other. I think I also heard them saying "He's mine, you witch!"... "NO, he's mine you hag!"

Just like high school girls, I tell ya.
