I've been doing lots of reading because I became a new tank syndrome newbie. There is alot of mention of a quarantine tank to put new plants and fish in to iron out diseases etc. or to keep fry in. What minimum size and set up could this be? Does it need another filter and have all the things the main tank has? How long is good quarantine?
The size of the quarentine tank depends on the size of your fish, but most people go for a 5 or 10gallon tank- the tank needs to be cycled and filterd and heated like any other tank and kept that way; most people quarentine their fish for about 2weeks
Thank you. I suppose the first small tank kit becomes the addiction, then you want a bigger one and the first becomes that quarantine tank...?
I'm already amazed at how fond of a fish one can become. I was rather fond of my Danio, he was so nosy.
