Hello,
I tried searching this but couldn't find the answer (probably missed it)

Is it recommended to quarantine shrimp (snails too for that matter) before they go into the tank? I'm not sure if they carry anything that could get fish or other inverts sick. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

snails and shrimp if kept with sick fish can carry diseases that will effect fish but not them selves, it only takes a drop of contaminated water to introduce diseases to your tank.

many lfs have all the tanks running from the same water supply and filters etc so even if fish in other tanks etc have diseases it may reach your tank if your unlucky. to be 100% safe i would put the snails/shrimp in a quarentine tank and do lots of water changes to try and remove any bugs etc then add them to your tank in a week or so.

personally ive never quarentined shrimp though :good:
