Lately I've been seeing kuhli loaches in my area alot, and have become intrigued by them. I just need some general info on them...adult size, will they do o.k. in a sand substrate, do they hide as much as people say, are they as active as people say, and are they o.k. with cories? I think I heard of one eating the eyeballs of a cory once?!? They just seem so innocent...I find it hard to believe.

P.S. Single, pairs, small or large group?

Thanks! :D

Any personal experience anyone would like to share?

THey will be fine with cories, and prefer and sand substrate.

How active they are depends on the number of them, and the number of hiding places in the tank. THe more of both, the more active they become.

I have 3 and I never see them as they've decided to live in the filter system. Every couple of months they'll find somewhere else to live, like the bottom of a plant or under a particular rock. I keep mine with 2.5" of sand which seems to suit them.

I've seen black Khulii loaches in my lfs, so I think I'm going to try those as well.

I've never found them to be aggressive and couldn't imagine a Khulii loach attacking a cory.
